Welcome to part two in this article series on making more money with your escort website.

In the last post I talked about how most escort websites are five to ten separate pages that scatter information throughout the site.

Typical pages are Welcome, About Me, Gallery, Rates, Links, Calendar, Contact Me, and a big Disclaimer page as your home page.

I also recommended that a better way is a website design I call the “Seductive Sequence”.

This is a special website with three carefully designed pages:

1. “The Seductive Squeeze” Home Page
2. “The Seductive Secret” Members-Only Page
3. “The Seductive Story” Contact Page

This powerful website has the potential to help you:

* Make more money, doing less hustle
* Attract better, longer-term clients
* Create income sources outside of just escorting

In this email, I would like to tell you about the first page of the Seductive Sequence. It’s what I have named the Seductive Squeeze home page.

The “Seductive Squeeze” home page.

The most commonly visited page on your website is your home page.

Yet nearly every escort website design I see neglects to use this page effectively. Mostly I see this prime real estate eaten away by a huge unnecessary disclaimer.

A Seductive Squeeze solves this oversight by focusing on building your mailing list. It captures your visitor’s contact info before he moves on.

Here are two example Seductive Squeeze home pages:

http://www.brookebensonvip.com/
http://www.margolamour.com/

Some entertainers freak out when they first see a Seductive Squeeze home page. But their objections always stem from fear, not fact.

Their fear centers around the possibility that they may lose potential clients with a page like this.

But the fact is, when you do it right, you don’t lose a single potential that was not truly interested to begin with.

I’ll go more into doing it right in part two of this series.

For now, I want to touch on the importance of building your own mailing list.

So, why it is important for you to have your own mailing list?

Because the bigger your mailing list, the more in control of your own business you become.

The bigger your mailing list the less you reliance you have on directories, review boards, forums, etc.

Just imagine the power in sending a single email to thousands of potentials who have already shown an interest.

“Hey you… I am visiting Miami next month. Will you be around? I would love to see you. Let me know. In the meantime, here is a link to a new secret gallery I just updated for you. XOXO”

It is power like this that changes your tune from “how do I get more business” to “how can I possibly handle all this great business?”

This is when you start to think outside of the box and when real money making potential flows into your life.

And, if you’ve ever wanted to start your own membership site, there is little chance it will be successful unless you have a pre-established mailing list.

How can I create a Seductive Squeeze Page and start building my mailing list?

I’ve really tried my hardest to make this series valuable to you, even if you are not interested in purchasing products or services from myHoneysuckle.

Unfortunately, creating a Seductive Squeeze page and properly configuring it with mailing list software is a bit complicated.

To be honest, I don’t even mess with this kind of stuff, I have my more technical partner James help me setup mailing lists.

If you are technical or have your own web designer, what I can do here is, I can recommend the right mailing list software for you. Then you or your designer can help you install it on your site.

What is the right software?

I’ve spoken with every single reputable mailing list provider out there, trying to find an easy solution for you.

Aweber, iContact, GetResponse, Constant Contact, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, myEmma, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, NONE of them allow adult content, and many of them even specifically prohibit escorting related emails. Boo. Grumble grumble.

The last thing you need is for months of work building your list to go down the drain when your account is suddenly canceled without warning.

So after years of experience building escort mailing lists now, there are only two options for your mailing list that I recommend:

1. “Interspire Email Marketer”

Email Marketer, by a company named Interspire, is the only quality mailing list software that has autoresponders, a feature I recommend you insist on in any solution.

The price is $495. If you want to purchase this software, here is our link:
http://www.myhoneysuckle.com/recommends/emailmarketer

Once you purchase, you or your web designer can install and configure the software for your website.

2. myHoneyMail

This is the mailing list software service that my business partner and I have created specifically for escorts called myHoneyMail.

myHoneyMail is $24/month and is currently only available to members of Escort Aristocracy.

For a limited time only, I am waiving the $97 setup fee and offering one free month of myHoneyMail when you buy Escort Aristocracy.

Here is the link to purchase Escort Aristocracy:
http://www.myhoneysuckle.com/ea

After you signup, just reply to your receipt email and let my know you are interested in myHoneyMail. I will send you a coupon to waive your $97 setup fee and give you one free month of myHoneyMail service.

In any case, stay tuned for part three of this series. In the next part I will cover the Seductive Secret Members-Only page.

Take care,
Erin Ann Myer

TIME-SENSITIVE P.S.

I have expanded my design team and for a limited time I am once again accepting applications for website design.

If you buy Escort Aristocracy now, you will also get a coupon for $300 off a full Seductive Sequence website which comes with two free months of myHoneyMail.

Here is the link to purchase Escort Aristocracy:
http://www.myhoneysuckle.com/ea

In this series of articles I am going to share some free tips on how to make more money with your escort website.

Let’s dive right in.

You may have noticed that most escort websites are anywhere from five to ten pages.

Common pages include Welcome, About Me, Gallery, Rates, Links, Calendar, Contact Me, and a Disclaimer as the home page.

This multi-page layout has been used for personal websites since the late 90s.

In fact, my first cam-girl site that I built for myself back in 1998 was this exact same type of design.

Back then, I didn’t have any other goal for my visitor but to amuse them and have them stick around as long as I could make them stay.

But a lot has changed since the website designs of the 90s.

Don’t get me wrong, this older style is not “broken”.

It can still work OK, and plenty of girls make a decent living with this traditional approach.

But if your goal is to go VIP, raise your rates, become booked solid with multi-hour appointments and add extra income streams besides in-person escorting, there is a better way.

Modern marketers spend literally hundreds of thousands of dollars per day to test what web designs works best to make more and more money online.

They’ve been doing this for a decade now.

We can borrow many tricks from them to improve your escort website and get you more multi-hour appointments per week.

In my Escort Aristocracy course, I describe the details of the exact escort website design I recommend.

I call this design the “Seductive Sequence”.

With this style of website, instead of five to ten pages, you carefully create only three pages:

Home Page (The Seductive Squeeze)

Members-Only Page (The Seductive Secret)

Contact Page (The Seductive Story)

A Seductive Sequence website is designed to:

Make more money, doing less hustle

Attract better, longer-term clients

Create income sources outside of just escorting

I am going to explain the purpose of all three of these pages in this article series.

I cover this all in much more detail in Escort Aristocracy.

But even if you are not interested in Escort Aristocracy, or in a myHoneysuckle website design, you can still get a lot of value out of this email series.

I’ve done my best to explain things so that you and your web designer can use this series to improve your website even without my help.

Stay tuned for part two where I will go into more details on the first page in the sequence: The Seductive Squeeze.

Until then …

Take care,

For nearly a decade now, I’ve been helping adult entertainers, just like yourself, make more money with their escorting businesses.

I have been in touch with literally thousands of adult entertainers.

Many of the escorts I’ve worked with have shared with me their biggest frustrations and problems.

Over time I have found that ALL these frustrations were often the result of ONE thing.

They were not treating the escorting business like a “real” business.

When pressed further, these same women admitted that if they were to open a restaurant, or a beauty salon, they would take that business much more seriously than they do their escorting business.

Why is this?

It isn’t glamorous to hear, but in many cases, when we dug deeper, we would find this was stemming from a lack of self-esteem around being an escort.

It’s not a big mystery that this industry is looked down upon by simple-minded individuals.

The problem is, simple-minded people often make a lot of noise about their simple-minded opinions.

And unfortunately I’ve seen a lot of ladies get distracted by this noise.

If you are getting distracted by the noise, I want to tell you something very important.

You may already know this, but it bares repeating.

The companionship of a consenting adult, such as yourself, offering your time and sensual services for compensation, is one of the most beautiful contributions you can offer the world.

It is a 100% legitimate business.

It is at least as legitimate and worthy a business as owning a restaurant, as selling insurance, as being a doctor, or a lawyer.

Furthermore, in my opinion, it’s MORE legitimate than many other types of businesses that are supported by the general public.

For example, the tobacco or even the fast food industries.

The consumption of addictive carcinogens to our lungs, or fried and modified frankenfoods to our stomachs, are both known to cause damage to our health.

Yet people walk in and out of stores to buy cigarettes, and fast food chains to buy very unhealthy food, every single day, without a second’s judgement. The general public seem to ignore the very obvious victims (themselves!) that are created due to these businesses’ success.

These are the same people that uphold illogical laws preventing the sale of something that is perfectly legal to give away for free.

The next time you drive by a store selling tobacco, or a McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, I hope that you
remember for a split second that escorting is a much more meaningful contribution to society than these businesses.

One day, I believe professional companionship will be properly appreciated for what it is.

If history repeats itself, then it will be.

History shows us many examples of escorts being revered.

Some held as much sway as the empress of an empire.

Others had enough wealth to rebuild entire cities after tragic wars.

In ancient Greece companions held high positions of governing power.

I can see a day in the future, not too long from now, when professional companionship begins to take a step forward again, in this direction.

But, given the current social and political climate in most places, for now, it is mostly going to be up to YOU to remind yourself of these truths.

And unfortunately sometimes you will be exposed to outside
forces sending you the opposite message.

Your government, the media, even friends and family. All telling you what you are doing is wrong in some way.

But it’s all noise.

When someone tells you that what you are doing is wrong or in any way something to be ashamed of: THEY are wrong.

They are wrong in the same way that people who looked down on the “speakeasy” business during the Prohibition era in the 1930’s were wrong.

80 years ago someone drinking a glass of wine would have been seen as a filthy criminal.

Now the very finest restaurants around the US serve exquisite wine and spirits without judgement.

They are wrong in the same way that the policemen arresting female suffragists in the 1900’s were wrong.

These were women non-violently standing up for women’s right to vote. A right that seems like basic common sense today.

And yet many people at the time thought the idea of a woman voting was despicable.

They are wrong in the same way the men who ordered Rosa Parks to give up her seat on the bus to make room for a white passenger were wrong.

Merely 50 years ago in the US, a black man or woman was seen as inferior, subhuman even.

And yet now the USA has its first black family in the White House.

Have you ever watched the Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech in full?

If you have not, you owe it to yourself to watch it now.

It is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

It’s only about 15 minutes long, so be sure you have enough time to sit down for the whole thing before you start it.

Click here to watch this incredible video:

Seriously, watch it now. It will take 15 minutes and it will change you.

If you never read another one of my emails, if you unsubscribe from my mailing list and decide never to buy
anything from me ever, as long as you take to heart the message in this one single email, I will feel like I’ve
done my job.

Because way more important to me than another dollar, is my mission to empower you, as an adult entertainer, to run a successful business.

A successful escort business that will put serious cash in your bank account, attract amazing clients, and keep you safe from outside persecution.

The foundation for ALL of this is to start treating your business like a real business.

And the secret to learning how to treat your business like a real business is to start taking pride in what you are doing.

So, ignore the noise.

Take full pride in being an escort.

Know that people with low opinions of escorting are the sheep. When the winds of popular opinion blow in a different direction, so will they.

You, on the other hand, are not a sheep.

You are a star.

You are laying the foundation for your own EMPIRE no less.

And it all starts with recognizing that you have more in common with Greek aristocracy than you do with your
landlord, self-righteous relatives, or any of the countless employees you know still stuck on hamster wheels in their cubicles.

YOU have chosen to take matters into your own hands.

You have chosen to lead with your own mind, heart, and body.

Take pride in what you do, soon you will be the Queen of your own Empire.

Take care,

For a long while now I’ve been studying the tweeting habits of an array of select adult entertainers. I wanted to know if Twitter really was a wise investment of your time as an adult entertainer?

Since there are obviously some successful entertainers using the Twitter service under their stage names, this led me to ask some important questions, such as:

Why would you use Twitter as an adult entertainer?

How is Twitter effective in enhancing your escorting business?

Is there any hidden value in using Twitter as an entertainer?

After months of conducting my own independent research I decided to also poll my list about Twitter to see what you think. Many of you responded and shared your positive experiences using Twitter to enhance your escorting business.

Others of you wrote in with your opinions of why you feel using the service for escorting is a waste of your time.

All of you presented very compelling points, and gave me a lot of food for thought.

What you helped me to discover through this in-depth study included new information such as:

Why successful entertainers are using Twitter

How you can get the most value out of your tweeting time

Why Twitter is a good investment of your time

What the hidden benefits of Twitter is for an escort

The best practices you should use with Twitter

What an escort should tweet and not tweet about

How you can use Twitter like a rock star

Reasons Twitter might not be a good tool for an escort to use

Your Top 3 Benefits of Using Twitter

I’ve been creating a model of how to use Twitter most effectively for an escorting business. From this research, I found that there are 3 major benefits for you to use Twitter for your escorting business. They are:

Networking and Friendsourcing

Creating Rapport with Clients

Establishing / Maintaining Your Brand

Networking

Since joining Twitter I have watched adult entertainers connect to me and an array of other industry specialists. Some directories, such as Lovings.com has their own profile and will interact with you if you ask her a question. I predict more directories will be doing the same, in the future. I’ve also seen several lawyers interact with providers and give legal advice through tweets and DMs.

Friendsourcing

Networking on this level can really come in handy in a pinch. If you are stranded at the airport in a town where you know no one, easily reach out to your Twitter friends. A friend of your friend might be able to lend you a ride somewhere.

Creating Rapport with Clients

While my findings haven’t shown Twitter being very effective for you to attract new clients, it can still be useful for your current clients. When they are able to follow your tweets throughout the day, they see another side of and understand you as a person. This can work well in maintaining ongoing relationships with your regulars, and for broadcasting tid-bits of info you would like your clients to know about.

Establishing and Maintaining Your Brand

Creating a Twitter profile linked up to your website can send tidal waves of branding power to your audience.

Now that we’ve covered some of the current benefits, let’s explore how you can apply these effectively to your Twitter experience…

Beverly Fisher of BeverlyFisher.com is always looking for new ways to market herself in a cost effective way, as an entertainer. She studied both marketing and advertising in college, and keeps a genuine interest in learning more about the branding process.

She recently responded to my poll with, “Yes, I use Twitter. I use it because it’s fun, and allows me to stay connected with friends.”

Some of the hidden (and not-so-hidden) benefits Beverly reported include:

She gets many hits every day on her website through from Twitter.

Her favorite clients follow her just to keep up with what’s going on with her.

Some clients book appointments after seeing things she has written on Twitter.

Beverly believes in the saturation method of advertising, therefore she finds Twitter one more avenue to keep her name out there. It is one more way for people to find her.

Since using Twitter she has gotten more international traffic.

She isn’t concerned with immediate results from her tweets. Some of her clients perused her website for a year before booking. She understands that advertising isn’t always about direct benefits. Sometimes those benefits take time to be felt. Since she does not offer same-day appointments, this works well for her.

Upscale clients expect an upscale provider. Demonstrating that she is Internet savvy and showing her connection with others reflects positively on Beverly’s brand and the image she is trying to project.

Through Twitter, she has been connecting with other providers; ladies she already knew, and ladies who were new to her. Making positive connections with other providers is VERY beneficial to her business. Often, after getting to know one another online, they’ll do banner exchanges; bringing more hits and interest to Beverly’s site. Further, these other providers will refer their clients to her, when the gentlemen are traveling to Beverly’s area. She does the same for them. Beverly says, “The clients are going to see ladies on their travels anyhow; why not see one of my friends? To me, this business is all about connections. Connecting with others brings me business.”

When it comes to the lulls in her tweets she stated, “I do have lulls in my updating. I’m busy. But the same is true for my blog. Doesn’t mean I can’t go back and start posting again, any time.”

What can you do about the “lulls”?

Tayjon of TayjonsEroticRide.com uses a special tool to do her real-time tweets. She schedules her tweets with Twuffer.

Every night she sits down and types out around 15 tweets for the next day. The tweets generally just say where she will be, random thoughts, and fun facts. Previous to using Twuffer she also used TweetLater and FutureTweets, but finds Twuffer to be better suited to her needs as an entertainer.

Another entertainer, who asked to remain anonymous, told of her experience using the TweetLater service to beat the “lulls” that can occur when you are limited on time, but updating your readers is important to do.

TweetLater costs $29 month and allows you to schedule your tweets to go out automatically. She spends about half an hour, every day, responding to people and scheduling her tweets and TweetLater takes care of the rest.

She also shared, “It drives traffic to my blog.” but also added the point, “I could see where this might drive some traffic, but whether clientele will find you on Twitter is another story. My best clients have tended to be gentlemen from 45-60, self-employed businessmen. I can’t imagine them having the time to be on Twitter?”

She brings up a great point about Twitter demographics that I’d like to share with you quickly.

Twitter Demographics

PEW recently reported that the median age of a Twitter user is 31, and QuantCast stats show that the service is most heavily populated by users whose financial bracket is in the $30 - 60K range.

While all income levels are represented on Twitter, the most substantial age group using Twitter is 18 - 34. In fact, this age group makes up almost one half of the users, coming in at 43%.

If you are like my anonymous friend above and you are most interested in booking with affluent gentlemen who fall into the 35 - 55 age range, Twitter does not look like the most effective site for finding them.

If you do decide to use an auto-updating service, such as TweetLater, make sure you don’t publish time-sensitive items that might get you un-followed. One of my ‘tweeps’ just posted an obvious auto-message about “tax time” and getting things done before April 15th.

Today is May 25th.

The magic of Twitter is that it is in real time. If you aren’t careful and come across like a bot instead of a real person posting, you could loose your following. Most users like the fact that Twitter is in real time, such as Ashley…

Ashley Devyne of AshleyDevyne.com commented that while she does use Twitter, her primary reason for using it is to network with other ladies in the business.

She went on to say, “I have met some really great ladies this way. I also like it because it is in real time, different then reading someone’s blog. I can reply instantly. It almost reminds me of instant messaging but your message goes out to a lot of people at once. I have many hobbyists who follow me on there, some are clients. I enjoy interacting with them. It is really nice to talk to like-minded people.”

Ashley openly advertises her Twitter address to clients and potential clients because she feels it is a great tool for a gentleman to get a feel for the type of person she is.

Remarking on the “lulls” that can occur with Twitter, Ashely said, “Life does occur so I do have lulls in tweeting. I joined last October, used it a lot for awhile, then life got the better of me and I backed off. I decided to check it out again after the beginning of the year. More people had joined and I found myself hooked again. I still find myself going a few days without tweeting, due to life getting in the way.”

Sophie of MissSophieSimone.com responded, “Twitter has been amazing in connecting with other companions. I’ve been able to share touring and marketing advice with new girls. I have made some friends, and even connected with a new doubles partner!”

Aside from the networking abilities the site provides, she made a comment regarding clients and how to effectively use the Twitter service to enhance your experience with them. Her thoughts were, “I haven’t met any gents on Twitter, but I do have regular clients that follow me. They like getting sneak peak updates into my life.”

Reese Rivera also uses Twitter. She uses it through a widget that allows it to be added to her website and myspace page. She said, “If it was contained to just the Twitter site itself, I doubt if I would use it.”

Reese finds Twitter is very useful to let the guys know more about her personality.

Once Reese began blogging she found that it increased her business. She feels that Twitter is an exention of her blogging.

Reese says, “I actually save time because I only have to create a very short message.”

However, she has not found that her tweets are showing up in Google searches. That is where Reese feels tweets are a supplement to blogs, not a replacement.

She feels that when Twitter is added to an entertainer’s website it adds a personal touch which connects a potential client in a way that helps him to make the buying decision.

Joanna of MsJoanna.com doesn’t use Twitter for three very specific reasons. Number one, she likes to remain a little more UTR than what some other entertainers are comfortable with. Number two, she prefers direct contact and likes to keep tabs on who is writing to her and reading her response. Lastly, number three, she feels Twitter has some security holes that she isn’t interested in getting caught up in.

While I am unaware of any big security risks Twitter poses, Joanna makes some great points for the entertainer who wants to stay under the radar. Twitter is public and very popular at the moment. It might not be the best avenue for the entertainer who wishes to keep a low profile.

Ami Divine adds in her thoughts on how her Twitter experience has been going so far. She finds it most useful because of the networking opportunities it has yielded. She deliberately searched for other articulate women to follow and they have provided her with substantial value in terms of support and advice.

She goes on to say, “I’m also noticing a pick up in terms of clients following me. I suspect there is in that a planned and plotted way to remind and inflame the occasional or on the cusp client, as well as to maintain your personae in the public realm as an exciting and vital woman they want to see.”

I’m with Ami on this one. I suspect there is a way to do this as well. So far, no one is really stepping up and revealing their secrets just yet, but we’re still investigating.

Even though the secret to enterprising on more appointments through Twitter hasn’t been revealed just yet, someone has been doing some great investigative work in that direction. Her name is Sofi.

Sofi just started following me on Twitter and told me that she would soon be enrolling in Escort Aristocracy. She has also inquired on how to enroll in my affiliate program. This is a great example of how new opportunities arise out of the connections you can make just by using Twitter.

That is the “gold” of Twitter, in my opinion.

Sofi went on to tell me, “I follow every guy that follows escorts and the guys following the agencies in Florida. I have not gotten anway near the responses that I expected. A couple of guys say they will book with me when they come to town, but it has not happened yet.”

Even though she is engaging with the exact guys she should be, no actual bookings have occured from the site, thus far, for her.

Sofi goes on to mention a great point, “People on Twitter seem to be focused on “following” and being “followed” by as many people as possible. I have had many women follow me who profiles say they are a Christian homemaker — definitely someone not interested in a high-end escort, which is clearly stated in my Twitter bio. I then directly message these people asking them what made them follow me and I never get a response.”

Sofi has really been attempting to work the Twitter angle to see if there are any bites for an entertainer. She has even been experimenting with sending DM’s to guys looking like good prospects. The gentlemen she selects to send private messages to are already following escort agencies, and appear to be mildly successful.

She rarely gets responses from them.

Her final thoughts are, “I will continue to fool around with it but don’t see it as a good marketing vehicle for finding clients.”

Though she doesn’t feel as though it is a good place to get direct sales, she feels it is still a great service for entertainers because of the networking capabilities. She has connected with providers on Twitter that she would of normally never met.

Adora of AdoraCash.com is using Twitter in hopes that on down the road she will see a bigger payoff. In the meantime, she is hopeful that her Twitter profile will bring more hits and leads to her website.

Although her research shows that Twitter might not be a great tool to use if you are trying to connect with new clients, she sees the value in using it for other things. Such as when she recieved some informative news on TER/TBD forums, simply by reading through her followers’ tweets.

Using Twitter: Best Practices

If you have been wanting to try Twitter out for yourself, here is a short and sweet “How-to” you can use to get started.

#1. Surf over to Twitter.com and sign up for your new account. Click the “Get Started - Join” green button to fill in your information.

#2. The sign up form will ask you for your “full name” and your “user name”, so let’s talk about the two briefly.

Full Name

Your “full name” that it is asking for will be your profile name when all is said and done.

This is where you will put your persona, or stage name. It’s important to fill this in correctly, because it will signify that you are a real person.

Other users will be much more prone to follow you and interact with you if you post as an actual person, rather than an entity, such as a business or website.

This name should be spelled out grammatically correct. Capitalize the first letter of each word, lowercase for the non-proper letters, and place one single space in between.

Good:</strong

Not so good:

<td width="200"align="left" valign="top">

Erin Ann Myer

erin ann myer
ERIN ANN MYER
erin-ann-myer
EAmyer

User Name

Now, your “user name” will be your Twitter address when all is said and done.

The selection of this is also important, because this is the user name that people will refer to you by when you are engaging on Twitter. People will come to know you by this name rather than your profile name. Select something that is memorable and clear on meaning.

My recommendations, in order, are:

Your name, no spaces, no underscores, all one long word.
Example: erinannmyer

Your website name, no prefix in the front or suffix at the end.
Example: myhoneysuckle

A cute nickname or online handle you go by:
Example: witchywoman

Examples of less memorable user names:
eam1978
2009_erintwitter
erin-twitter

Keep in mind, Twitter doesn’t give you a lot of characters to work with, and your most preferred name might already be taken. Do your best.

#3. For your password, use something you won’t forget.

#4. VERY IMPORTANT: For your email, be sure to sign-up with the email that you use strictly for escorting. Otherwise, if you use your personal email address, people who have you in their address book will be able to see your entertainer profile.

After you fill in all the fields during sign-up, you will be taken to a page where it will ask you for your email password. If you choose to, you can give the password to your email. Twitter will search your address book for all the contacts who already have profiles.

You can opt to use this function, or skip it. It will give you the control to check off people you do not want to connect with. You can always go back and do this step later.

Next, you will be shown a page of recommended profiles to follow. They will feature people such as 50cent and Kevin Spacey. Be sure to un-check all of the boxes of those you do not wish to follow, or hit “skip this step”. Otherwise you will be following a bunch of people you might not want to be following.

Your Twitter Settings

Once you are finished “signing up” you should immediately go to your settings and fill in your information. Your settings page has several tabs. Under the account tab you will find three important fields to fill out:

More Info URL

This is a great place to plug in your website, blog, or any other page where visitors can find out more information about you. Be sure to click the red link to find ways to incorporate Twitter on your website or blog.

One Line Bio

Hubspot, the creators of the Twitter Grader, submitted a report on their internet marketing blog that revealed data stating that having a full bio and website link on your profile will get you more followers. It was reported that profiles with a bio recieved 8 times more followers than those that did not.

So, what should your bio say?

This is similar to an Eros tagline. Your bio is just a short sentence that briefly describes yourself in an interesting way. Try to make it original, short, and sweet. If you are having trouble writing a bio for yourself, take a look around at what type of descriptions your peers are using and build on your bio from that.

Location

Then, of course, fill in your location. If you frequently travel to different cities, list them. As you can see I placed CR and CA, because I frequently travel back and forth to both.

Devices Tab

This is where you can plug in your mobile device and tweet from, if you choose to.

Picture

A photo of your face works best on Twitter. If you are not comfortable showing your face as an entertainer, then choose some other flattering photo of yourself.

While this rule is not currently heavily enforced, nudity in Twitter avatars is not allowed. Currently, you will still see profiles featuring nudity in the avatars from time to time.

With Twitter’s rapid rate of growth occurring right now, it is no wonder that they have bigger fish to fry than to scour their site for nudie pics.

However, when things simmer down (which won’t be too much longer) they will be enforcing this much more strictly.

The day they decide to start enforcing this, if your avatar has nudity, you risk having your account suspended. Save yourself a lot of grief in the future and go ahead and play by the rules before they start patrolling for it.

Design

The last tab I will talk about is the design tab. This is where you can customize what you would like your profile to look like. Have fun and play around with the colors they give you to use.

In the future, if you would like to create a custom background you can ask any knowledgeable designer to do this for you. Make sure they use “twitter” background specs so that it shows up properly on the devices accessing it. You should be able to find someone to create something special for under $150, perhaps less, depending on who you contract.

Or you can have a go at it yourself. Twitter Patterns and Twitter Images are two sites where you can find free backgrounds to use.

You will also want to use the proper specs, which are given here at Croncast, as well as some great additional points about Twitter backgrounds.

You are all set up, so now it is time to find your friends…

Follow People

Shortly after you set up your profile, you will want to go ahead and follow some other users. The ones mentioned in this article are an excellent place to start.

Erin (me!):
http://twitter.com/ErinAnnMyer

Sofi
http://twitter.com/Sofi_Samson

When you arrive at their profile, simply click the “follow” button on their page that looks like this:

You can also find people to follow by searching for them through Twitter’s “Find People” search, found in your top, right hand menu.

Another great place to look for fellow companions and industry professionals is at WeFollow. Here is the direct link to their escort page. You can also scope out the adult page for interesting people to follow.

Be sure to tag yourself on the WeFollow site before leaving.

Now, that we’ve covered WHY Twitter can be beneficial to you, as an entertainer, and HOW to get yourself started, let’s move on to the WHAT…

What Should You “tweet”?

What I’ve seen work best on Twitter is what I like to refer to as “un-advertising”.

It’s expected that you will be talking about yourself, but followers tend to frown upon those who oversaturate their feeds with the same old announcements.

When you mention your ads or website, it should be in a way that is “news worthy”.

Did you just update your blog, post new photos, or add a new feature to your site? Tweet about it!

Advertising yourself should not be the only focus of your messages, however. Your followers are going to be much more interested to hear new information rather than seeing your URL posted up over and over, again and again.

Post about current topics that are interesting to you. Post things that you think other people might like to hear about. For instance, post up the link to a great article you read today. Post the link to that funny photo your friend sent you this morning.

Don’t forget that Twitter is in REAL TIME.

Mention your new blog post… when you post it. It’s ok to mention it once more later. Just don’t mention too often. Remember, your followers will be reading your tweets when you post them, in REAL time. They will also start to notice when you repeat stuff.

If you start to sound like a tv commercial they’ve heard before, they’ll tune you out.

NaughtyReviews is a great example of a really effective way to tweet.

They post interesting stuff. They post links to their blogs right when they publish them. They also interact and engage with their followers.

Lastly, make sure you are tweeting appropriate things. Ashley Devyne brought this up to me and I could not agree more.

Avoid tweeting negative talk about a client, and don’t ever tweet that you are “dreading” an appointment. Remember, unless you have your profile set to “private” you tweets are public and can be read by anyone.

Not only are you in jepordy of possibly having the client you are referring to read it, but this type of talk is off-putting to all of your other clients, as well.

Remember all those industry connections you followed? Watch how they tweet. Engage and interact with them, and in a matter of minutes you will have the hang of it, too. A word of warning though… it can be very addictive.

Who is Twitter for?

You might occasionally have someone tell you “Twitter isn’t for escorts” or maybe you have told people this yourself, because you’ve never seen any intrinsic value in it.

Twitter is for everyone. Many happy and successful ladies use it to enhance their escorting careers. I’ve seen it empower entertainers just like you and I do believe it to be a valuable tool.

While it has not proven to be very powerful in collecting new clients, it is a pure gem when it comes to networking. It’s really hard to put an actual price-tag on that.

If you still aren’t comfortable using Twitter, that is perfectly OK. Use the tools that feel right for you.

Thank you so much to all the wonderful ladies who greatly aided me in completing this expose.

And a special thank you to you, the reader, for reading.

What is your biggest frustration when it comes to escorting? What is the one thing you’d like to, once and for all, figure out?

There are a few common mistakes I see escorts making with their online marketing. The saddest part is, most will never realize they are even making them. I compiled these mistakes into an ordered list of ten.

#10: Unclear on the purpose of your website.

As an entertainer, what would you say is your number one goal you hope to accomplish with your website? Getting clear on this is invaluable to its success. What you are hoping your “return” to be should drive the decisions you make about your design.

Maybe you want to:

Attract and Attain a Higher Caliber of Clientele

Avoid Time-Wasters and Abusive Clients

Book More Calls

Book Fewer Calls, But More Multi-Hour Sessions

Raise Your Rates By Branding Yourself as a VIP

Have One Central Place for Your Most Current Info

Spend Less Time Screening

Stay Safe and Secure

Start a Member’s Site or Have a Shopping Cart

The most important first step you can take when considering your own website is figuring out your most pending goal, and then decide on secondary goals. Without listing your goals and what you hope to accomplish, you are basically building a site with a blindfold on.

Without clarifying your goals, it’s quite possible you will end up hiring the wrong person to build your site for you, if you aren’t planning on building it yourself.

#9: No personal fan base or database of clients.

What would you do if tomorrow every advertisement you had online was taken down? What if the directories that bring you the most traffic were suddenly forced to go out of business?

Could you sustain your business with only your personal Rolodex or would you be in trouble? How long could the reliance of this float you before the well ran dry?

Acquiring your own personal database of thousands of clients and potential clients isn’t nearly as daunting as it sounds. With the right game plan you could realistically build a database like this within one month’s time.

The solution is to grow your own email list.

With an email list, or mailing list as they are most commonly referred to, you have the power to reach out to numerous potentials in one email.

Please don’t misread this. I’m not suggesting unsolicited mass emails here. Mass spamming is ineffective and actually hurts your business.

I’m talking about super effective emails sent out to targeted gentlemen that voluntarily signed up to be a part of your mailings and genuinely enjoy hearing from you.

I’m also referring to good, personally written newsletter campaigns that appeal to what these types of readers want to hear about.

The secondary benefits of having your own mailing list are endless. I’ll give you a few though… creating quick rapport with potentials, branding yourself as an affluent luxury, weeding out time-wasters, attaining more regulars, etc.

#8 Not showcasing your best reviews.

Good testimonials have been shown to improve sales conversions across the board for all businesses.

In our industry they are more often referred to as your “reviews” and they perform the same exact duty. They aide to establish credibility, and ease uncertainty or mistrust.

This is especially true for those of us relying on the internet to promote our services. In a buying scenario where a client cannot actually tangibly hold in his hands what is being sold, such as a book in a bookstore, he will be relying on outside encouragement from peers to make his final decision.

What other people say about you and your services will help to build an impression in the minds of all of your prospective clients. Affluent buyers, in particular, are quite interested in hearing feedback from previous purchasers.

You can assure the visitor of your ad or website that your service is of the highest value, but without proof they will remain skeptical.

They are much more inclined to believe what other people have to say about your services. This type of reliance on feedback is extremely common across countless forms of human interaction. It’s referred to as “social proof” and you can use it to encourage your potential clients to choose you.

Gathering up your very best reviews should be a step you are bringing in at the ground floor of development when you are building your website or putting up a new directory ad.

#7 Using unprofessional photography.

I’ve heard in a few circles that some entertainers feel as though professional photo shoots give an ingenuous feel to the presentation. Suggesting that when you use anything other than “raw” photography, you are misleading the client.

The raw style might be working well for American Apparel, but that’s not really your target market.

You don’t see BMW using anything less than the most exquisite photography to showcase their series of luxury cars. Anytime you notice a luxury product being presented you will also notice the photographers they hire are the best in the field.

These companies have spent lifetimes studying and understanding the specifics of how to appeal to affluent buyers. They know that the affluent market demands a higher quality of presentation.

If, as an entertainer, you are not willing to move past the myth purporting professional photography reflects ingenuous presentation, then you will only continue to push the wealthy away.

It should go without saying you will want to avoid massive retouching options such as body sculpting or extreme airbrushing of your skin. If you look dramatically different in person than you do in your ad photos, this can cause an array of negative possibilities when you show up for your appointments.

Using a professional photographer should not equate to “fake-looking” photos. Reputable photographers will produce pieces for you to use that require little to no retouching at all. A good photographer knows not to over-process your images.

Using professional photos in your advertising materials will not only help you to attract upscale clientele, but they will also help you to repel budget buyers.

#6 Poorly written ad copy and emails.

Just as important to the overall presentation as your photography, good copywriting is essential to compelling your visitors to contact you for an appointment.

That is because writing has the power to steer people’s decisions in one direction or another. It can even manipulate people to do things they had not planned to do prior to reading the copy.

Copy can also be the sole reason someone decides to leave your site or ad. When written poorly, it can yield the opposite result of what you want.

If you want to avoid using bad copy, brush up on your skills prior to putting up your site. Read up on good copywriting techniques and complete some exercises to give your writing an edge.

Or consider using part of your marketing budget to find an experienced professional. Give as much consideration to your copy writer as you would your website designer.

Outside of your website and directory ads, poorly written emails also make it considerably more likely the potential will not open a second message from you. It should go without saying that every line of communication should feature correct spelling, proper grammar, and complete sentences.

Great copy is undeniably one of the best ways to help get a reader to follow-through and contact you for an appointment. It’s also a great way to get a better ranking in search engines. Through organic SEO, search engines will bookmark your site for certain words and phrases you use in your well-written text.

This often overlooked part of your marketing has benefits o’plenty!

#5 Not networking with peers or partnering.

The number one questions I get in my inbox is “Erin, where can I find a good support group of like-minded entertainers?” I find it unusual that so many are still out there completely unconnected.

Fortunately, not all entertainers have stayed so disconnected and some have formed different online havens for you to visit. In addition to the many numerous escorting forums you will come across, there are also social networking mediums that can instantly connect you.

One of which is twitter.

Connecting with your community will link you to like-minded professionals, escort photographers, lawyers, new directories, and other industry professionals. After you spend some time forming online friendships, you’ll become walking-talking advertisements for one another.

The entertainers I see chatting back and forth on twitter are actually giving each other free advertising every time they mention each other’s name. This public conversation is seen by all who follow them. It also adds an extra bonus of immediate social proof.

All of this happens simply by interacting. Pretty neat.

In addition to the forums and the social media outlets, you can also increase your networking by reaching out through email. Contacting someone directly through email is a more personal way to connect.

A highly rewarding way to network is to introduce people to one another.

When you help to unite two greatly-matched people to one another, they will often think of you, when they think of each other. You introduced them. The power in this is unbelievable.

Last point to mention is when you outsource your link exchanging tasks to your webmaster; you miss out on a really great networking opportunity.

Instead of having someone issue out a generic email requesting a reciprocal link-back, try writing the person yourself. Make your email personal and warm. Try to find out more about them, and exchange a few emails before asking for the link request.

Use as many methods as you want and spread out amongst as many groups and cliques as you like. This is about networking, so the more the merrier.

#4 Poorly structured rates.

There is no exact formula that can apply to all indy escorts, in every city, in every country, regarding how to structure your rates. There are many factors that come into play when deciding this.

With saying that, however, there are four main considerations you should consider regarding your rates.

Research your competition in your primary city. Keep yourself in the top bracket, always.

If you are a traveling companion, consider removing your rates from your website. Only display them on your directory ads.

Half hour rates have their pros and cons. It is best to not publicly advertise them and save the option for regulars and referrals only.

Use the Rate Decoy to structure your rates. This method uses selecting what you would charge for an extended session first, and then working down from there.

#3 Using “stage” or persona names incorrectly for escorting

If you currently use an adjective as your first name as in “Hot Haley” or “Sexy Selena”, consider a name make-over.

These types of phrasings are sometimes OK when used as descriptions in sentences about yourself, but when it comes to the name your clients will refer to as, make it a proper first and last.

Instead of “Hot Haley”, try Haley Holidae.

Instead of “Sexy Selena”, try Selma Selena.

Can you hear and feel the difference in the two? One sounds like the next “performer” being called onstage. The other sounds like a real woman you could spend an evening with.

A realistic first and last name is the best route to go.

#2 Comparing self to others, instead of comparing present personal success to past personal success.

The temptation to compare ourselves to others comes with good reason. We humans want to know where we stand in society’s “hierarchy” and comparing ourselves to other people gives us the much needed data to know where our place is.

Our whole lives we have interfaced with these social dynamics, from kindergarten up until now. Unspoken “rules” are in place that our culture has agreed upon, to decide who is at the top, and who is at the bottom.

The unfortunate part is that when we are always comparing ourselves to other people, we will inevitably always find someone new, who is above us.

And this type of vicious cycle is designed to kill our self-esteem.

The other sad fact is that when we are only pushing to outrank someone else, we totally miss the mark on our true potential.

Instead of turning to other entertainers to weigh in on your social ranking, why not try comparing yourself to… yourself.

Try, for instance, instead of comparing your website to another VIP lady in your city, compare your website today to what it looked like three years ago.

Instead of comparing what your ad text reads like in comparison to a fellow entertainer, compare your ad text to what it read like last year.

Recognize yourself for all the progress you are making in your career.

The desire to compare ourselves to another person will only result in us feeling we are lacking in some way or another. When we take the time to explore our previous selves and compare them to our current self, we can finally see the real data that will support good self-esteem and self-love.

#1 Not appealing to the affluent market.

You might be surprised to know that the majority of traffic looking for you and your services online are affluent gentlemen between the ages of 35 and 49. This is fact.

Males, aged 35 to 49, with an annual income of or above $100,000, make up the highest percentage of visitors to the top Escort Directories.

This is true across the board…

If you are advertising on Eros Guide, Lovings, CityVibe, Open Adult Directory, BackPage.com, The Erotic Review, myHoneyGirls, Escorts.com, or Craigslist, then the majority of the traffic being exposed to your ad is wealthy affluent men.

So, what the means is, when you negate the opportunity to advertise yourself as a VIP to the affluent, you are actually repelling the majority of men even looking for you.

It’s true.

Affluent men like the finer things in life. So, if you are branding yourself as anything below the upper crust, the affluent gentleman will generally pass you over, and keep looking for something more suited to his refined tastes.

Affluent clients love a deal, but they aren’t looking for a bargain. Do you understand the difference here?

While a wealthy gentleman is delighted to get a free limited edition designer helmet worth $1500 with the purchase of his brand-spanking new BMX motorcycle, he’s not interested in the used Honda selling for thousands cheaper, down the block.

Even if he likes a deal just like the average guy, the affluent buyer still wants the best. They want “the best” and they wouldn’t mind a deal, but they aren’t interested in the “average”.

Brand yourself as an affluent luxury and watch money flow to you.

As an adult entertainer, you may have asked yourself whether you should screen new clients or not.

The answer is: Absolutely. Every single time.

Screening is crucial for your safety and also for your client’s safety as well. By showing that you never skip the screening process, you are letting your clients know you take your business seriously.

You are a professional. As a professional, you are ensuring that your clients are decent citizens coming to see you for the reasons they are stating.

The good news is, screening doesn’t have to be a headache. However, it does take a bit of work and some creativity on your part.

The screening process you should be taking for your potential new clients is ever evolving. When scammers and abusers get wise to the latest techniques we use to identify them, they come up with new ways to sneak through our clever screening processes.

For this reason, many of more sophisticated methods are kept as “insider” secrets by ladies in this industry. Out of respect for this we will not reveal these deeper secrets of screening in this report, as this will dilute their effectiveness.

Rest assured however, the simple screening processes described in this article will help keep you safe. After we cover the basics, we’ll touch on some more advanced options you can take to prescreen time-wasters, and even get paid to screen.

The first part of the screening process involves requesting information from your potential new client.

Now as you may suspect, many clients feel resistant about giving you information about themselves. So, part of your job when asking for this information is to make them feel comfortable.

Let them know this is a completely standard procedure that all upscale escorts require. Remind them that it’s for their safety as well. You can understand why they may be a little anxious about giving you their information. It’s ok. You don’t need much. Be patient with your new potential client and be the reassuring voice they need to hear.

I’ve created a hand little recipe note card that you can print out and use to aide you in collecting this information.

Here is the break down of what information you should be getting, at minimum, from every potential client:

1. Real name
Their full legal name.
Preferably, with the middle initial.
Check this against their ID at the beginning of your session.

2. Phone number
At least one.
Preferably, both home and cell.

3. Email address
At least one.
Preferably, their primary email address.

4. Where they got your information from
Eros ad, P411, your website?
Please don’t say Craigslist!

5. Two references
You’ll want to know when and where these visits took place. Ask them to give some unique details about your potential client’s appearance. Also ask for some innocent details about the visits themselves that may have stuck out to use as a reference.

Got the info? Good.
Now it’s time to put on your detective hat.

You want to search for clues to verify your potential client is, in fact, who they are claiming to be.

Two themes to look for:
- Look for consistency.
- Look for any information you can dig up that is more than a year old.

A good indication that you are dealing with a potential scammer:
- There is absolutely nothing about them online.
- Everything you find was just created recently.

So, first step, head on over to Google.com.

Take their real name, address, and phone number, go to Google and run searches on this information.

Be sure to use quotes around variations of their information, like this:
“John Smith”
“Smith, John”
“555 444-1234″
“(555) 444-1234″

This tells Google that you want to find this text exactly as you typed it. Look for older forum posts, business websites, comments in blogs, etc.

What did you find reveal?

Another site where people frequently have their information stored is
Amazon.com. Go over to Amazon People Search and do a search on their name and email address.

If you find their profile, check out their wish list. What is the date on the oldest item on it? What kind of items are on it? You can tell a lot from a person by what they like to read and purchase.

Next stop, eBay.com. Go to eBay Member Search and search for their email address(you will need to be a member of eBay to do this).

If you find their User ID on eBay, it will say right away how long they have been a member for and where they are located. Click on their User ID and check out the kinds of things they like to bid on.

Anything creepy?

Another great site to do a search is Zabasearch.com. You will want to place the full name in for your search. In order to get the most out of this site, it helps to know his birth year, city, and town.

Now, last but certainly not least, get in touch with the references your potential client provided. Jog their memory with the extra details you requested.

It’s one thing to ask, “Hey Sally, do you remember John Smith from Atlanta?”

And quite another to write, “Sally, do you remember John Smith from Atlanta that you met in April of last year at the Sundial restaurant? He said it was pouring rain when you left. I looked up information on him and he has a bunch of computer books on his Amazon wish-list so I am thinking he is an engineer of some sort. Thanks Sally.”

Once you hear back from both of the references you should have uncovered enough information about your potential client to make an informed decision on whether or not it is safe to see them. On top of that, you have also most likely gained some valuable insight into what your client is like as a person. This can really help you increase your connection with your client and help make them feel very special.

All of this will result in happier clients who speak highly of you and come back again and again.

Other optional information you can ask for is their occupation title and their work number. Feel out your screening process and if you feel more comfortable adding those two pieces of information, then do so.

There are quite a few other sites that can be of aide to screen and you can add them to your process at will:

Date Check: Very reputable and highly trusted. Free for entertainers, very low $5/month fee for gentlemen: http://www.date-check.com

Reverse Phone Directory: You can grab a lot of free information, such as location, and the type of phone. For a fee, you can even look up the registered name. http://www.reversephonedirectory.com

Fone Finder: Another phone number reference tool: http://www.fonefinder.net/

Yahoo! Profiles: If the gentleman has a yahoo email, you can look up his user profile: http://profiles.yahoo.com/[add the yahoo handle here]

Black Book Online: This one is a bit more complicated, but might be of service to you if you have a sneaky feeling about someone and you want to dig a little deeper. Make sure to follow the directions: http://www.blackbookonline.info

Email Tracker!
Would you like a great email tracking tool that sends you reports about if and when your messages have been opened and read, how long it was read for, and if it has been forwarded to someone else, and who? Also have the ability to see the city, state, and country the recipient is in, along with countless other features. It is free to try for first 25 emails, and the fee is very affordable after that: http://www.readnotify.com/readnotify/payment.asp

Preventative Medicines:
The first and most crucial step in developing a better, easier screening process is to start at the very beginning. Using preventative medicine in your ad text and on your site will prevent the vultures from ever circling.

How can you do that?

Well, for starters you can take your phone number offline. In order to go through the first stage of your screening process, you can first screen by email.

This way you can monitor his level of interest and seriousness before wasting your time on the phone.

It’s in your best interest to avoid responding to any incoming messages that contain the following:

- A photograph of his genitalia
- A request asking for more revealing photos of you
- A request to see your face (if your face is blurred/cropped)
- Vulgar language
- Emails written in txt speak (r u avail 4 booking?)
- Emails lacking a greeting or a closing
- One-liners (are you available today?)

Other time-waster tell-tale signs to look out for are:

- After the appointment is booked, needing to communicate at length further
- Asking questions that are clearly answered on your ad or site
- Repeatedly asking for “more details”

Upping the anti

Some ladies don’t want to stop there, and why should they? Screening takes up your valuable time. Any steps you can take to prevent it from eating away any more minutes out of your day are steps well taken.

I have two more considerations to introduce you to. The first is the pre-screening contact form with required fields. Below is an example from one of my client’s sites.

The great thing about having a contact form on your site is it totally alleviates those creepy one-line vulgar messages from being sent to your inbox. With a pre-screening contact form you are in control of what information the client sends you. This helps him to not forget to send his full name, or telephone.

Along with this form, you can give an explicit guarantee of privacy with SSL.

The second consideration is charging all of your new potentials a one time “new client” fee. How much do you think your time is worth to go through the necessary trouble of screening? $25….$75? When you charge the new potential for the screening, you are weeding out all of those guys who aren’t serious about booking. You also send a message that your time is extremely valuable. No freebies.

It’s good for you, because you don’t waste time screening someone who ends up not booking. At the very least you get compensated for the time it took you to go through the trouble of your detective work.

This concept has tremendous potential. Imagine a new potential client paying you $50 for the screening process, but you language as “One time fee for lifetime membership to your site/newsletter/club” and countless free offers can be attached to it.

“When you fill out my contact form and pay your one time lifetime membership fee, you will instantly have access to free wallpapers for your cell phone. You will also receive a personal response from me within 2 business days.”

It’s up to you how you want to handle your screening beyond the basics. Get creative and try to have fun doing it! Don’t cut corners, just screen smarter.

This is updated periodically with suggestions sent in by you, the reader. Have a suggestion for a fellow entertainer? Please write to me now and give me your feedback, so I can include it in the newest edition.

Take care and be safe.

Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes it takes someone else lifting the curtain a tad for us to see our shortcomings.

The latest 2009 version of this top ten can be read by clicking here. <br/

Do you know what the top 10 BIGGEST mistakes most escorts are making? I’ve put together the top ten mistakes I see occurring most frequently with most lady’s businesses. This is a general guide to give you some food for thought.

Number 10
No Metrics: Not Tracking on Paper What is and What is Not Working

How many times have you said to yourself – “I’m not going to advertise there, because it doesn’t bring in any calls.” And then you referred to a spreadsheet that actually reflected what you were saying was true?

If you’re like most people, you store all of your data in your head.

The problem is, our brains aren’t very reliable when it comes to keeping track of really detailed information.

Most business owners would think you were crazy if you suggested they keep track of all their ad results in their head. So, why should your business be any different?

Every ad, every change you make to you ad, should be tracked and recorded in a simple to access spreadsheet of some sort.

That way, the next time you turn down a “25% off your ad” offer at XYZ.com, it will be because you referred to your data, and it’s telling you 89% of the potentials you got from your last ad there, were from complete time wasters.

Number 9
Not Positioned as Unique: Trying to Appeal to Everyone, Not Being Appealing to Anyone

When you try to appeal to too large of an audience, what ends up happening is that you fail to appeal to any type of an audience.

Just as people are drawn to the unique qualities of the people they select as friends, a man looking for an escort is going to use the same type of selection process.

A client looking for your special attributes wants them to stick out more than the generic ordinary qualities that every girl has.

If you are a 5’1 half Latino, half Asian girl with a large bust, then proclaim your uniqueness. Don’t dye your hair blonde and play up your height.

Be an exotic petite busty adventure, not a blonde Barbie “girl-next-door” that every other girl is claiming she is, too.

If you are blonde, again, play up your uniqueness. Instead of trying to come across as the generic and overly claimed girl-next-door, take on the role of the femme fatale, a Bond Girl type of persona.

Remember, think fun, exciting, discreet, playful, elegant, and mysterious. Try to come up with a style that will set you apart.

Number 8
Poor Rate Structure: Not Using Good Rate Techniques

It always boggles my mind when I see ladies using half hour rates on their ads and websites.

I know why they do it. I just wish they understood how much it hurts their impression on a new viewer.

You would think it might appeal to the man, causing him to think you are a very accommodating provider. Unfortunately, what it says to an upscale gent is that your time is worth so little, that you are willing to slice it up and put it “on sale” so to speak.

High class providers do not offer half hour rates. It is simply a waste of her time.

Another missed opportunity is not using the rate structure I’ve coined as the Rate Decoy. It uses the concept of starting with what you want your 3 hour rate to be, only knocking off $50 to come up with your two hour rate, then dividing that in half to get your one hour rate.

What you end up with is a much more compelling rate chart that actually subconsciously makes the potential want to book a 3 hour session with you!

Number 7
Poor Screening Methods: Not Using Preventative Measures To Avoid Time Wasters

Another huge and unfortunate mistake escorts are making with their business is not taking simple steps to save time through pre-screening.

Instead of allowing anyone anywhere with a keyboard to send a time-wasting vulgar message directly to your email, put up a secure contact form as your only method of communication.

Contact forms are great, because they can contain fields that are mandatory to fill out before he can submit it to your inbox. This way, he cannot leave out any important details that you need.

One step further is charging a very small “one time fee”, so that only the most serious potentials get through.

This fee can be refunded during his first session, or it can double as a lifetime membership to your VIP newsletter, etc.

Number 6
No Budget for Marketing, Advertising, or Professional Photography

I don’t know who started the rumor in the escorting biz that you should spend as little as possible a month on your marketing and advertisements, but it could not be father from the truth.

As a rule of thumb in business, if you market to the public you are going to want to be spending a higher percentage of your income on marketing and adverts than other businesses.

If you are an escort, then you are marketing to the public. So, already we’ve figured out you might be spending a bit more than other industries.

When an escort is new, launching a new name and persona, seeking new clients, or trying to gain exposure, then she should be spending at least 20% of her monthly revenue on her marketing and advertisements.

Once she is at a point where she’s satisfied, this percentage can be trimmed down to 8 – 10%.

What can be considered advertising and marketing is anything that gets you more exposure, gets your name out there, helps you make more money, and helps attract new people to you.

Professional photography is a key ingredient in making the most out of your advertisements and marketing and you should be investing in this regularly.

You have to give a little to get a little.

Number 5
Bad Photography: Slutty Vulgar Images That Do Not Attract Good Clientele

Wow. I could talk about this one all day long.

It never ceases to amaze me how many escorts who are not considered “high class” or “upscale” post naked photos of themselves online.

Are they not taking notice that Amy Taylor doesn’t put pictures of her boobs up anywhere? ‘Cept maybe in her Private Member’s Area behind lock and key.

It also never ceases to amaze me when the same ladies who posted up nudie photos of their exposed boobs complain about all the vulgar emails they have to weed through.

Hello?

If you want to be taken seriously as a worthwhile escort, then put up sensual worthwhile photos of yourself.

This doesn’t mean your photos won’t be considered sexy. On the contrary, you can use a little known technique called the Peekaboo Law for maximum effectiveness in attracting upscale males.

The Peekaboo Law is when you cover up or hide the naked bits and pieces of your naughty places with a white sheet, bubble bath, shower curtain, etc. in order to entice a man.

Get creative with your photography, but no more of those exposed naughty bits! Save that for later.

Number 4
Sloppy Ineffective Copywriting

Why don’t articles published in magazines feature misspellings, abbreviations, fragmented sentences, run-on sentences, or other bad grammatical errors?

Because magazines know those types of things do not compel readers.

Why some escorts think their ads and website copy should be written any differently than an eloquently written article is beyond me.

It is true that men make extremely quick decisions about your ad before they even begin to read your copy, which is why it’s so important to have good, clear, professional photos.

However, once he’s in, if you want to keep him in, then it’s your task to write compelling copy that leads him down the page to your contact information.

Stop using abbreviations in your advertisements today. You might see them used on review boards among hobbyists, but that doesn’t mean you should be using them in your ad copy.

Spell everything out. Leave nothing up for misinterpretation. While we’re talking about spelling, make sure yours is accurate.

Your ad copy should tell a story. Tell him what you have, what he’s going to get, and then tell him what you want him to do. It’s as simple as that.

As always, be sensual, creative, and discreet with how you word it. Just as you shouldn’t have slutty vulgar images advertising your beauty, you shouldn’t have slutty vulgar text advertising your services.

Number 3
Their Website is “All About Them”, Not “All About Him”

When was the last time you were on some company’s website and found yourself reading page after page of information that was all about them, their history, their employees, where they grew up, what’s their favorite color, what’s their favorite band, how many kids they have, what their names are, how many pets they have, what their names are, what their hobbies are?

Probably never, because that sounds boring as hell.

You probably spend the majority of your time on websites that care more about your experience than shoving information about them down your throats.

Your audience feels the same way.

Sure, a potential is interested in you… to a degree. What he is interested in is finding the information he wants about you, namely your rates. More importantly, what he might not even be aware of is… he’s most interested in how your site is making him feel.

If you can make him feel like he’s already in session with you, after being playfully seduced, and now being spoken to by someone who knows exactly what he wants, then he’ll read your entire site, and then contact you for an appointment.

Number 2
Not Building an Email List (mailing list, newsletter)

Practically every escort that has a website is missing out on a huge potential by putting a big scary disclaimer on her first page.

Instead of this, what she should be doing is using that most visited page to promote visitors to join her personal email list.

Without a mailing list you are at the mercy of the review boards, the forums, your ads, your search engine ranking, the economy, the political climate, the weather, and the strange whims of men.

Most people don’t purchase a product or service the first time they are exposed to it. This piece of psychology also applies to men looking for an escort. They typically surf directories for hours, and then end up returning to ads that have caught their eye more than once.

So, the last thing you want to do is rely on a man’s memory when it comes to your business. You need to sweetly remind him every once and awhile that you’re around, and you’re still available.

If you are always waiting for men to come to you, then you’re leaving at least half your business on the table.

Remember, escorting is not just the business of creating the feeling of a quick pleasurable encounter for men. Successful escorting is figuring out how to maintain and deepen relationships over time. That is the difference between a lady that is still hustling dozens of clients with few repeats, and a “high class companion” that has half a dozen wealthy benefactors.

The challenge is – half a dozen wealthy benefactors don’t typically fall in your lap in just one afternoon. It will take time to create this kind of lifestyle, no matter who you are or what you look like.

The way it’s done is by learning how to differentiate the worthwhile clients from the crappy ones, and taking extra special care to deepen the quality of the relationships with the good guys.

This is easier to say than do, of course, but a mailing list will profoundly help with that challenge.
Number 1
Having Unclear Goals and Values: Not Treating Their Business Like it’s a Business

The number one mistake I see escorts making today is not treating their business like it’s an actual business.

Now, I don’t know if this comes from lack of confidence, self-esteem, or the fact that this industry is sometimes looked down upon by simple-minded individuals.

Regardless of what the rest of the world thinks, escorting is a very lucrative REAL business, and you should be treating it like one.

The first step to running a successful business is to get clear on your goals and your values.

Once you have that accomplished you can dig in deeper and explore your ideal client, what he wants, and how to effectively speak to him in your adverts.

Believe me, your clients will thank you for it
